A Journey of Support in our Cosplay Livestreams

In the vast and sometimes treacherous landscape of social media, we found ourselves on a hilariously unpredictable adventure as cosplayers, attempting to embody the iconic characters of Pamela and Jason Voorhees. Little did we realize that our comedic escapades would attract a following of brave souls who appreciate our unique brand of humor. Today, we want to express our deepest thanks for the surprises that await us during our TikTok livestreams, the unexpected connections we stumble upon, and the incredible community of fellow enthusiasts who join us on this wild ride.

Just like an unexpected banana peel on Jason's path, the surprises we encounter during our livestreams never fail to leave us hilariously startled. But before the laughter takes hold, we must acknowledge the jittery nerves and nagging doubts that haunt us before we hit that "Go Live" button. Like two campers trying to put up a tent, we question ourselves: Will anyone even care? Will they be rolling on the floor laughing or simply rolling their eyes? Yet, as we take that leap of faith, the overwhelmingly kind and supportive comments we receive from all of you sweep away our worries and leave us in stitches of gratitude.

Similar to stupid campers stumbling into Jason's clutches, we find ourselves equally bewildered by the overwhelming support and laughter we encounter. Your words of appreciation and encouragement hit us like a crazy plot twist. We never expected such a level of comedic camaraderie for our cosplaying endeavors. In these uproarious moments, we come to realize the impact we've unintentionally made and the connections we've hilariously forged. We are eternally grateful for each and every person, tapping, sharing, gifting or subscribing who has joined us on this super satisfying journey, adding a much-needed dose of laughter to our lives.

Navigating the intricacies of our cosplays, attempting to perfect mask design that doesn't resemble a dogs dinner, and putting the finishing touches on our comedic routines often leave us in fits of laughter. But it's precisely these late-night shenanigans that make going live so side-splittingly exciting. Anticipation builds as we transform into our characters, ready to share our comedic passion and unleash the Friday the 13th universe with a touch of silliness. It's like Tommy Jarvis trying to outwit the real Jason with a rubber chicken and a plastic machete! Little did we know that the laughter and support we receive during these live sessions would become the most rewarding part of our comedic cosplay adventure.

In the Friday the 13th movies, Jason often encounters memorable characters who infuse the story with their own brand of humor. Tommy Jarvis, for example, brought his own quirky charm to the series. In our livestreams, we're lucky to have our own memorable Characters popping up for live chats and battles. We appreciate them and all the other Tommy Jarvis-like viewers who keep our livestreams entertaining with their entertaining brilliance.

Speaking of brilliance, we can't forget to mention the mighty Kane Hodder, the master of physicality and the man behind the iconic portrayal of Jason Voorhees me and Ma love. His skillful blend of terror and funny moments serves as a constant inspiration to us. We strive to capture the essence of physical genius as we stumble and fumble our way through our own cosplaying endeavors. It's the same with Ma, speaking some of Pamela Voorhees' iconic lines but altering them to make me go get her a drink!

We are really enjoying putting out the content on Ma's account at the moment (@originalpamelavoorhees), where we've unleashed a series of comedy show videos. Ma (Pamela) tirelessly works to find the perfect funny sounds for us to use, finding some classic British Comedy gold to use. Her contributions add an extra layer of entertainment to our cosplaying output, and we are thoroughly enjoying this collaborative comedy chaos.

In Friday the 13th Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan, Jason's wrath extends even to a boxer who loses his head—literally! It's a knockout performance that really left us all in stitches. While we don't have boxing skills, we hope our comedic antics can deliver a similar "punchline" and we'll continue to put out content for our friends and followers to enjoy hopefully.

As we stumble and pratfall our way through this strange journey, we invite you to join us in the comedic depths of Crystal Lake. In the words of Crazy Ralph from Friday the 13th Part 2, "You're all doomed! You're all doomed!" But fear thee not, it is not a curse but a promise of laughter, silliness and the camaraderie we share. How being a tiktok live host can help so much with self improvement!

Sometimes you are progressing and you don't even realize it.

Pamela and I were chatting yesterday about our livestream on tiktok and thinking about if there are any benefits. We all want to get better and level up at a few things in our lives don't we..

We both think that the hours we've spent chatting to our friends while hosting our tiktok lives have had some really positive effects on our day to day life actually. Here are some of the positive effects we feel:

It makes you more tolerant because lets face it, we deal with enough trolls!

better at speaking publicly

better at listening

better at communicating with different types of people from different backgrounds

Makes you more diplomatic

Makes you better at storytelling

I remember being at School and being terrified of public speaking. I'd always talk myself out of it and never want to volunteer to do presentations. Ma's the same. Don't get me wrong, she's a confident girl but she feels so much more confident with public speaking as a result of being on tiktok!

We've mentioned before, Pamela and I love a bit of performing and used to go to a lot of Karaoke's back in the day. Even open mic nights. Now we just make sure to include bits of that in our tiktok lives. So the regular streaming is really helping us with a creative outlet.

It's the same with our mask making. We make themed masks that allow for an artistic outlet. All of this will hopefully make us get better at it and most importantly it's giving us the chance to do something we love. This is wonderful for our mental health!

There are so many hosts out there doing something. Imagine all of these people somehow progressing in some way or another because of streaming. That's the beauty of being a tiktok live host. Sometimes you are progressing and you don't even realize it.

The icing on the cake is being able to help others who may be watching your show. A lot of our friends have told us that we've helped them so much and their mental health. We feel it's the other way round. Our friends help us so much more than they know!

Why being a troll isn't worth the time wasted!

Just because your favorite live host always seems happy, they may actually be going through some tough times.

We've all been there haven't we.. You're doing so well on Tiktok. You're videos are getting good numbers. You're lives are full of amazing people from all over the World and then bang. You get a suspension and you can't go live for a week..�� Next thing you know, you're content views plummet and you start to think people aren't interested in your vids anymore or you get paranoid that people aren't making an effort with you.

Well it's a shame to say but this is often caused by those pesky little Trolls that we all have to deal with at some point in our journey as a Tiktok live host.

But who are the Trolls?

In Pamela's and my experience, there are two types of Trolls. One type are the Joker type characters who just like to inflict random carnage and then watch the World burn... You know, they come in and just say silly things. I don't mind these ones. They can be funny at times and you can turn it into a funny moment. Our mate Walking Leaf say that some of his biggest fans are Trolls!�� He's a good guys who looks on the bright side of life.

The other type are sadly people you have fallen out with who at some point may have even been really close friends with you. They've taken offence to you blocking them, so are out for some type of revenge. They don't want to see you do well so really try to stop you by mass reporting your content. A lot of people say it's jealousy. I think it's more a way for them to get back at the person.

I would urge anyone who has ever been blocked by someone to just move on with their own lives and content creation and put in 100% effort with it. Don't waste your time holding grudges, talking about the person you've fallen out with. Don't put up hateful vids calling people out. This will get you nowhere and actually make you look like a c*nt. All it will do is put people off and make people think twice about wanting to get close to you as they see what you are capable of and how you hold a grudge when things don't go your way. It's a child like reaction really. School kids stuff.��

Remember, time is precious and you can't get it back once it's gone.

We see time and time again, lots of our good friends being suspended and this can be soul destroying for them. It takes a lot of bravery to become a live host and start streaming. So many hosts build up a community where they help their viewers. Life is a struggle as it is and the road to being positive is tough. When Pamela and I go live, we find it really helps our mental health. Some of our best nights have been on Tiktok. A few kind words go a long way. People cheers you up. We have amazing friends coming in all the time bringing us up so we try to be positive too. If we get these negative moments or suspensions, we just take a break from going live. Maybe shift our focus.

It's when you may be struggling in your actual real day to day life and then get problems online too. That's when everything can start to get to you. Just because your favorite live host always seems happy, they may actually be going through some tough times. Being on Tiktok may be the only glimmer of hope they have in an otherwise less than fruitful life. It may be their lifeline.

So if you're reading this and have someone you've fallen out with. Take a moment to stop before you try to take them down. You can channel that energy into having fun with your own content and try to make some vids. Having your own project gives you something to actually put some of yourself into. You never know. You may really start to enjoy becoming a content creator and want to forget about being a Troll.��

Using your Tiktok account as your main side hustle

Are you a content creator and Live Host in Cosplay? Would you say that you are quite serious about what you do?

Well if the answer is yes, you can most certainly treat your content offering as your side hustle and a way of earning some extra money if you want to. So many people do it. The best thing about it is that you are really focusing on something you are passionate about too!

Me and Pamela look at our stream a couple of ways as we've said before. It's a Side Hustle. It's a way of channeling your creativity. It's an escape from our worries in life. We really enjoy meeting like minded people who also love the art of Cosplay.

When we're live, we never "beg" for gifts. If we are gifted, we are super grateful! That's the way it should be- not asking for gifts to go up in the rankings. We appreciate the support so much. If we don't receive gifts, it's all good because we love what we do on our streams and have amazing friends that we enjoy interacting with!

Life tends to go this way for most people- You go to School and then maybe College or University. You then get a job and have to wait for that monthly paycheck which can be a bit of an annoying routine really. I always get payed and am okay for 2 weeks but then skint for the next 2. But if you work hard at what you do with your Tiktok or social media account, you can start to earn some extra cash that you wouldn't usually have.

With that money, you should definitely try to save some as a main priority we think. Not just spend it on a load of takeout food! Then you could reinvest in your Cosplay or equipment to make stream improvements, or even try to invest in Shares or Funds to create another source of income. Either of these would be a way of making your money work for you. That side hustle really could help you to generate some wealth!

We live in times where there is so much info out there. Understanding how to generate wealth is something that is worth learning about and trying to develop. I often read up articles about the stock exchange. Be someone who is constantly trying to gain knowledge if you are interested in this. Interviews with Warren Buffett are always enlightening and well worth searching up on Youtube..

Streamlining your Tiktok Livestream so you are enjoying what you do

So you've been on Tiktok almost 4 years. Are you enjoying it?

Hey guys, if you are already friends with me and @originalpamelavoorhees, you will already know that we love what we do and enjoy our Friday the 13th based Cosplay project. We absolutely love creating videos and doing our livestreams. We love the Mask making and putting together different costumes, selecting our music and lighting. Meeting different people, chatting and having battles. Supporting people from our community where we can.

A lot of people manage to monetize their streams and content and we are no different. It's one of our aims actually. We have 3 Kids and very busy jobs too so this is a side project where if we put in the effort, the rewards can be awesome. It's like a second job for the both of us.

Problem is, if you look at it as being a job, the fun starts to disappear and you start to focus on trying to earn money as one of your main priorities. Money can be a great motivator but it can also cause stress. Pamela and myself were chatting the other day and we had this conversation. We both agreed that we actually want the fun element to be the main priority and if by any chance we do earn money, well that's a bonus.. A big bonus actually! ��

It's the passion. That is what should completely drive you. Not the money or the numbers of who's liking your content. Yes, you can use your viewing figures, likes and comments as a way to assess your progress but different things can effect these anyway that are out of your control. Things like trolls or changes in what viewers are interested in. If you then become bogged down at the lack of likes you're getting, you can become worried or upset about it.

We find that it's better to come up with concept ideas for a series of themed videos where you may try something new and fresh. Once you take that as far as it can go, you can then go in a different direction. You know what I mean? How many times have you seen creators doing the same thing over and over again. You look at their page and all the vids are the same in style and substance. I'm not talking about the massive creators who have gone viral with doing a certain type of video. Good luck to them- they've smashed it. I'm talking about the ones that are doing ok and have been around for a while but have hit a bit of a wall almost like writers block. It's this moment where you want to go to the next level. If we all constantly challenge ourselves to try something new, we can keep ourselves passionate and inspired. We can enjoy every moment of the video creation and Live Hosting. You have to enjoy it! It's a must!

So, if you take a good hard look at your content, try to keep what you love doing and get rid of what you are not. Change your thought process if needed and focus on your passions. I'm sure your viewers will be able to see your enjoyment in what you put out. Don't be too stressed about video likes. Work hard to make sure you're having fun and all of a sudden you may reignite that passion that may have drifted away.

Remember, this is only mine and Pamela's thoughts. We aren't experts. We just love to write about our thoughts and experiences in Cosplay. It's one of our passions!

Happy New Year!

Moving into a New Year running our Friday the 13th inspired Cosplay Stream

So it's 2023 and still no Flying Cars or time travel... But we are still loving life as Tiktok live hosts!

What are the plans for moving into 2023?

Well me and Pamela were chatting the other day about our stream, how it's going and what we want to do. The quick answer is, more of the same but we're looking to streamline our way of working. We need to get more organised. Not get too planned up but just start by looking at our Cosplay clothing and masks which we have a shit tonne of, Go through it all and have a big sort. What works well? What not so well? Looking at it, do we need to buy any additional bits and pieces? If so, new outfits really help in creating new fresh content. Cosplayer's are admired greatly for their creative costumes. Investing in new ideas are a must!

Once we go through Clothing, Props & Masks, we can do the same with our lighting and actual stream area setup. How can we make improvements? Remember, your friends who follow you love to watch how your Stream evolves over time. Any changes you make keep things interesting for them. For the last 6 Months or so, Pamela and I have been trying to Duel live a lot more with other Live Hosts. This has been to try to get to know our friends a bit more and try to create more of a community where we all know each other really well. That's the choice we decided on. So it's been more talking and interacting through Tiktok Battles and less Performance. It's good for people to get to know you as a Cosplayer and not just the Character you're trying to portray. We'll be looking at ways to change up our stream always.

Another thing we'll be doing more of is our Radio Show: CCL Flashback. We love to play our favorite music and have great friends coming in with song requests. I like joking around with Ma doing these shows. It also gives our friends something different from us.

We'll also be working hard to make new videos. If you have a great video posting strategy, this can really gain you followers. Is it trends? Is it the video effects? We'll be putting a lot more time and thought into what vids to do and how often to post. You have to work out what works best for you here. Some people post 2 vids a day. Others post 6 - 8 vids a day. It's good to have a posting strategy to keep your content visible and keep you fresh in peoples minds.

So it's almost here.. Christmas 2022!��

Wow, can't believe how quick it's come round this year! Life can be such a roller coaster of emotions with ups and downs for so many people. We actually love to go live on Tiktok as a way of escapism, forgetting our troubles and having a laugh with the amazing friends we've met on the app! We love to run our Friday the 13th based Cosplay stream and want to say thanks to the beautiful people who always bring us up and make it worth being content creators in the cosplay world. Big shouts out to our #VoorheesFam who also support us with regular duel lives and catch ups. Being live host, its the people who join us regularly who help us to get our stream out there. So many wonderful people who help us to build a positive community!��

For our Christmas Special, me and Ma decided to do our usual giveaway mask but for our unbelievable subscribers this time. The reason was because we thought we don't really do much for them so this would be our way of saying thank you. On the live, we put all of their names into a hat and drew out the winner.. It was our lovely friend @Tiffanynicolevoorheesfam who won which we were so happy about! Tiff won the Krampus mask that Pamela and I made together. We'll be posting it out next week after the postal strikes UK is having at the moment.. Hope you like it Tiff! Once again thanks to anyone who has subscribed to us. That's too kind of all of you actually..�� We'll be doing more live giveaways in the new year so please keep an eye out for our live streams and content!��

Thinking about it, we had quite a productive year really.. We launched our Website, Blog and other Social Media Accounts, all of which we'll be growing as we move into the new year. Without the fantastic friends we've made there would be no audience to make content for. There would be no reason for Ma to make her Diamante Masks. No reason for @theclassicmichaelmyers to make vids with us.. No reason for me to do any artwork and basically no creative outlet for us at all. Thanks so much to anyone who takes the time to read our blogs too. You have all made it all worthwhile for us!

Identify the things that you’re passionate about when streaming

Strip back on what you don't enjoy.

As a live streamer, over time your stream will naturally evolve and you may be doing things differently to the way you did when you first started. This could be a good thing or a bad thing really. You have to assess that and ask yourself, are you happy with your stream? Have you veered off track over time? Are there certain things you do just to please people or because you think that's what people want?

You need to ask yourself these questions because pleasing people is not sustainable in the long run in keeping yourself happy. You stream for hours on end so have to be happy doing what you do. Streaming should be about you being passionate about the thing you love to do. Our stream is made up of a few things. We like to play music and chat to our viewers but also, dance and perform around our Cosplay characters too. We show content but also show our art process around our masks. We also like to run a music quiz here and there as well.

One thing that I struggle with is having live chats and battles. With this, you can either enjoy it or hate it depending on your mood and how your day's going. It’s interacting with callers but you never really know who’s gonna call and what they are going to say. They may call and not really have much to say, which can sometimes slow you down. Having calls brings you closer to your friends which is awesome. We've said before that you need to have good friends who you link up with to make your stream interesting. People who bring positivity.

The main thing to remember If you’ve been streaming for a while, ask yourself, am I happy with what I’m putting out there? Identify what makes you happy and strip back what doesn't. At the end of the day, you being happy is the main thing. Not what you think's expected of you.

Am I too old to be a Tiktok content creator and Live Host?

In life, you can't be defined by your age.

Welcome to our blog. I'm Originaljasonvoorhees and I work on our Friday the 13th based Cosplay live stream with my Partner in Crime, Originalpamelavoorhees. We are both in our early 40's but never really let age come into it. We know a lot of other Cosplay artists and they don't focus on it too much either.

I guess it's the type of content you put out, because in the end, isn't that what people are looking at? Even more in Cosplay, you are masked or painted up so people are really looking at the visual element as well as the sound. Also, I like to think as people get older, they may well be more mature too, although that's not always the case!

You can draw from all of your life experience and put that into your vids which is a plus. Music, Movies- even old school vibes. Me and Ma remember being young in the 80's but being in our teens in the 90s. From Guns n Roses to Public Enemy. Madonna to the Biggie Tupac feud. All stuff we've lived through. As a host it helps you to be able to speak with lots of different people from all over the world and you do get people who can connect with you because they have lived through those times too.

Some people who think they are too old to become a live host are even inspired to do it themselves after becoming friends with us. A lot of the time, isn't that what most people need - a little inspiration. That's one reason me and Pamela like to show people's content on our streams sometimes. We stop the music and take a look at each other's content. For inspiration. We have a room full of like minded individuals who just want to put out entertaining videos. If we all see something someone's made that blows us away or makes us all laugh out loud, it kind of spurs you on to want to try to make a vid that gets a similar positive response.

Content creators are there to entertain, inspire & provoke a reaction out of their viewers. I don't think it should be fully about the numbers of likes you get. It should be about you being proud of what you've put out. Being artistic and expressing yourself creating atmospheric or thought provoking vids. If you are a creator, what reaction are you trying to go for with your vids?

It's not not just black and white though and sometimes you have dramas or problems to deal with that effect your mental health. This can lead you to putting out angry or moany vids. We try to avoid this as we don't think our friends want this from us but it's good to be real at times so people get to see the vulnerable part of you too. I take breaks where needed to help with this so I can come back stronger and get back to what I do best. Ma's the same. Positive vibes are best we find.

So age is not important. Trying to inspire with positivity is. Just mine an Ma's thoughts.

A person's love for music is often ignited by their Parents

Growing up, you are exposed to all of their favorite Artists and tunes!

As Horror inspired Cosplay performers, Pamela, myself and theclassicmichaelmyers are always using songs to help set the atmosphere and hype up our stream. We absolutely love music and it's often the most important part of our stream. But where does that love for music come from?

For me, growing up, my real Mum used to always be playing records on her stereo system. Tunes from James Taylor, Elton John, Bob Marley, The Clash. Actually my Mum's best friend went out with the Drummer from The Clash, Topper Headon and she told me that he let me have a go on his drums as a baby. Shame I can't remember that! My favorite band she used to play were the Beatles. She used to play all of their albums actually. My favorite she used to play was The White Album. Just loved their different styles and their technical brilliance! My Dad never really sat down and played records as such but he loved The Who, the Eagles and The Doobie Brothers. He'd be singing along to the radio every morning before work!

Also, as children, we'd always love to watch Top of the Pops - a weekly chart show that would have on all of the best Artists and often some unusual ones too. That got me into music big time. We'd be sitting as a family wondering who'd come on next or have a laugh at a few novelty acts too. Pamela's was the same, growing up also loving this show! As you grew up, you'd see how the different genres would become more popular. Pop, Rap, Drum n bass,Jungle,Grunge, Britpop, UK Garage.....

Pamela, grew up the youngest of six siblings but it was her Dad (a big fan of Roy Orbison) who was more into Music in her family. Her Mum and Nan from Gibraltar would show Pamela Spanish Artists and songs. They had Ma in their 40's so grew up on the Artists of the past like Elvis. Pamela's Dad had a great voice too so was a big inspiration to her wanting to sing and took her with them to Karaoke pub evenings which she loved.

I met Ma when we were both 18 in the late 90's. At that time we were watching a lot of the music channels like MTV and Kerrang listening to all sorts. We stream or watch a lot on Youtube now but looking back, the love of music comes from our Parents for both of us.

When you think about it, a person is exposed to their Parent's favorite Artists and songs and that has an impact, good or bad. The person then goes through life liking and seeking out what they like. When you then have children, it starts again. You kind of pass on all of your likes to your children where they will get a bit of a mix from you, plus your parent's.

That's how it is for both of us. I wonder how much a person's music taste is affected by their Parents. Is it the same for you?

Our favourite Video Games ever!

Video Games have always been a big part of our life!��

Pamela and I love to live stream but what else? Do we like playing video games? Who us? Heck yes we do! Grew up on them actually..

So I asked Originalpamelavoorhees what her favorite games ever are and here's what she said:

Sonic The Hedgehog on Mastersystem - she loved playing this with her Nephews when she was younger and used to try to get the hidden Gems! Sonic games were so fast and addictive!

The original Super Mario Bros games - she grew up in the 80s like me and this game series was hot back then and has evolved over time but we were lucky to experience it all! Super simple but very difficult as you got to the later 8th Worlds. Super Mario Bros 2 was so different from the rest. Used to love the digging parts looking for keys and also trying to fight Birdo, who used to spit out the eggs that you had to land on and then throw back at her to complete the stage. Ma loved the fruit machine type mini game at the end of levels that allowed you to win extra lives! She was pretty sick at that when we played together. Super Mario 3 was amazing how they introduced the Map element that made it feel like you were actually navigating another World.

Resident Evil 4 - Me and Ma used to sit in our living room playing this one all the time. It's the brilliantly created survival horror mixed with great graphics and story line. We used to have a right laugh playing this. I think Capcom are releasing an updated version soon that we will definitely be buying! We are massive fans of all of the Resident Evil games actually. I remember playing the original one with my Brother in our teens. Super scary! We were hooked ever since. It's like being in one of your favorite Zombie movies! Res 2 got me and My bro g'ed up. Our mate @theclassicmichaelmyers loves the Res Evil Games too and is pretty sick at the latest ones!

I love the Pamela's choices too and also the below:

Silkworm - Mine and my bro's first console was a Commodore 64 and this game was our favorite! One of you could be a Jeep, while the other flew the Chopper. A side scrolling shooter with bosses at the end of each level. Graphics weren't great but game play was excellent! You could pick up games for the Commodore really cheaply back in the day - something like £2.50 from our local corner shop!

Dizzy - This was a puzzle solving game series featuring an egg with boxing gloves. You'd have to work out how to get past objects and solve problems. Also on the Commodore 64, so a long wait for the tape cassette to load to start. We loved having our own gaming console. Our Mum bought us this console thinking we could do our homework on it as it was like a PC with a keyboard. We never did much homework on it though!��

Double Dragon 1 &2 - Played these games aged around 7 or 8 at our mates house. Just loved the way you were almost in an action movie, beating your way through gangs and bosses! Super adventurous and got you into the story.

Bad Dudes Vs Dragon Ninja - When we were kids our Mum and Dad bought us a NES but we weren't a rich family so we had just the one game for a long time(a double game cart, Mario/Duck hunt). We begged our Dad to buy us Double Dragon so he gave in and agreed but came home with this. We loved it and thanked him for the mistake he made! You guessed it, its a side scrolling beat em up!

Turtles in Time - Again, me and my Brother were massive fans of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles growing up so naturally played all of the Video Games too. This game is a straight up classic! The 16 bit Snes graphics stepped up the game from the Nintendo Entertainment System ones. ClassicMyers loves too. Sidescrolling beat em up's are the best!

Streetfighter 2 - Took the Beat em up world by storm. So many games came after this one. Love the music and how the different fighters cultures are reflected in their stages.

R-Type - Had these games on the Snes and Megadrive. Loved flying through space fighting Organic looking Alien machines! Loved the way your weaponry upgraded as you went along.

Super Probotector - Part of the Contra series. Absolutely awesome levels, music and the bosses were cool. Loved the part when you have to grab onto the Chopper's missiles as it ascends upwards then starts to fire each missile. Jumping from missile to missile was and still is a blast. Me and Myers completed this game together!

Command and Conquer - Building your own army and trying to take over and defeat enemies. You had to send out a Harvester to collect Tiberium to generate the money to build your base, army facilities to train troops and factories to produce Tanks and vehicles. Strategy at it's best!

Goldeneye 64 - We had this on the Nintendo 64. Four of us would battle it out on the four way split screen. The player 1 mode and storyline was sick too. One of the greatest games. Loved the movie too! Big James Bond fans!

Final Fantasy 7 - Had this game aged around 16. Used to play Manic Street Preachers This is my truth, tell me yours Album while playing it! Loved it because of the art and the vastness of the world it was set in. Absolutely epic gaming!

Mariokart - My family has always loved this gaming franchise. Multiplayer option is best and so addictive.

I could go on all day but these were some of our favorites growing up! We'll chat about some more in the future!

After a few years on Tiktok, how are we finding it?

It's an ever changing platform - Tikytok addiction is real!

So when we first joined Tiktok, going live was fairly new. Before that, it was the cool videos and filters and having fun with the sounds that you could chose from. Going live is brilliant and still is. Basically it's an outlet for having a laugh and meeting new people.

What we've learned is to find the people you get on with and really let them know you appreciate them. Banter with them and keep it all fun. Don't over step the mark with banter though. Goes down like a lead balloon. Be respectful always.

I've said it before - don't get over focused on video views and numbers. Just focus on getting your content out there and be kind. Because you don't know what life has in store for you and sometimes life can give you a good hard kick in the crown jewels. Positivity breeds positivity and the opposite is true too. As someone who has suffered with anxiety, someone told me to keep busy and always have something to work on or towards. Could be anything, just don't over think things.

I've noticed, Tiktok can sometimes be a bit like that Frank Sinatra song That's Life. You know that line - "riding high in April, shot down in May" - you could be doing really well with your vids for a while and then all of a sudden, you feel that they are not being seen. That can feel awful to be fair. It's the same with lives. At times it's unexplainable so I can see why people get into a bit of a downer.

Pamela and I have had periods like that. We just take a short break and come back when we miss it. Which we always seem to do. Our mate @Pitbullthelegend calls it a Tikytok addiction. A lot of us live hosts do seem to be addicted! But what is it we're addicted to?

It's a combination of things. It's the instant ease of access to good friends we've made. It's the challenge of trying to get better. Also it's enjoying performing and entertaining, hoping to cheer people up. At the best times, it's being cheered up ourselves. Me and Ma just love the whole project really!

What you don't miss are the negatives which I won't talk about now. Thinking of those make you want to take a break.

We loved hosting our Halloween 2022 live stream on Tiktok!

Congratulations AOL & Buddy on winning our Competition masks!

Hey guys, hope you're well and having a lovely week so far.. Almost there!

So on Saturday last weekend me and Pamela hosted our Halloween special with our mate @theclassicmichaelmyers - we had a fantastic time and want to thank everyone who could be there! We also want to say a massive thanks to everybody who entered our mask giveaway and took the time to duet the videos we made wearing the masks. We had an amazing number of duets actually so thanks again!

This time round we thought we'd put more names into the hat because it was way too hard for us to choose only 13 finalists. We ended up having over 30 finalists and then got @theclassicmichaelmyers to randomly pick out the 2 winners from the hat. Well done @AOL_tiituli81 and @buddyredneck(who won his second OriginaljasonandMa mask!)! We also managed to live duel them and get in a chat and they were both super happy to win which made us over the moon!�� We'll be sending them out shortly! Feel free to check out both of their accounts on Tiktok - they have fantastic content!

For the live we tried to put on a show and hope everyone enjoyed it. We got together new music playlists and got in more props. One thing i'll say is you have to be careful with props as they can unfortunately get you into trouble - same with vids. We are Cosplay though so do need to use props to add to the atmosphere or make certain acting scenes work. Our mate Myers was on good form wielding his guitar and Ma was bringing the vibes as usual with her performance! I came on acting a scene out as Bubb from Day of the Dead. Couldn't stop laughing to be honest!

We were really supported by our friends that night. Won't forget it actually! A few of our mates duel lived us - @driftervoorhees, u_r_my_sun, welshlou, tinyperez, pitbull_the_legend, amijay, silver_heart, skullfacejr, tiffanynicole and then Buddy and AOL.. All we can say is thanks so much for jumping on with us and helping us with the show. Sometimes we miss calls too unfortunately because when we're performing, it's hard to answer but thanks so much to anyone who tried to call too. That's the only thing with the performance lives we do. But we have a better idea around that moving forwards. We don't think we'll do the battles on live events but have little calls instead because its nice to get as many people on as possible. Then we can keep the music going etc..

All in all a great night with great people! We're starting to think about our next event now and ideas for our streams and website.

The beauty of hosting Cosplay Lives on Tiktok

It's like working in Theatre!

We briefly discussed how we feel about the fantastic platform Tiktok gives you and the way you kind of become the Director of your favorite Movie in the last blog post. This time we're going to chat about our thoughts on actually live streaming and what that feels like..

We'd say that going live is very much like working in Theatre. There are no second takes or chances. You have to have polished your act so that when you press the go live button, you know what you're supposed to be doing. You would have worked on songs or performance pieces in advance too. Don't get us wrong. You do have spur of the moment things that just happen, or a lot of the chat is not planned because you interact with your viewers questions, but all pre stream lighting and sound have been tested and planned before you start. As well as any skit or acting scenes will have been rehearsed.

That's why me and Ma get anxious just before going live. In the Theatre, they say "break a leg" to each other for good luck just before the curtains come up. We think that's the exciting thing with going live. Anything can go wrong and most certainly has done with us! Phones falling off tripods. Backdrops falling down. Messing up singing performances. Smashing glasses. Getting glass stuck in feet. Ma spilling full glasses of Vodka and diet cokes on my laptop. Our kids throwing hissy fits in the background. Callers p*ssing us off. We could go on and on! In these situations, you have to try to make a joke of it or end the live in a professional manor. It's lucky our stream has comedy elements so these cock ups are too much of a problem - we just joke about them when they happen!��

To carry on with the Theatre element, while Ma's performing, me or @theclassicmichaelmyers might be controlling the lighting or be switching to a filter. Sometimes all 3 of us are all controlling a different aspect in the same way that Theatre actors are supported/assisted by sound engineers and follow spot operators.

When all goes to plan, going live can be exhilarating. You can feel like you're Jay Z or Madonna, putting in a scheduled live performance in a room full of people but it's not a Madison Square Gardens or the 02 - it's from your bedroom in the South of London!

Life as a Cosplay Stream host on Tiktok

The platform gives you the opportunity to almost become a director of the Movies you love so much!

Have you got a passion for creating your own Cosplays around your favorite Superhero's or Horror Characters? Do you love to whack on a bit of fancy dress at every opportunity you get when you're invited to a mates Halloween party? If the answers are yes then you sound a bit like Pamela and me! For years we'd really look forwards to planning what we'd wear when organising or attending these spooky celebrations.

Why do people love to dress up? It's just for a bit of fun isn't it! It's the reaction you get when someone come over and gives you their feedback. Or you can be with your friends, look around a crowded party and try to work out who looks the part and then joke with each other who looks dreadful!�� All in jest mind.

I remember one Halloween party we went to years ago where Ma dressed up as Jessica Rabbit and I went as Jason Voorhees. Ma killed it and definitely turned a few heads that night! I had a bad Jason Hockey mask so a few days before, I decided to do an overhaul job and paint it up. I think we had 3 days till the party and I decided to use oil paints which I used to use for painting portraits. Bad idea. Oils take a long old time to dry! Even the hair dryer didn't help. I got it done and it looked ok but I think on the night, it was still wet as f*ck!�� But we went and got good reactions and had a blast.

Anyway, fast forward to now and we're both working together on our Friday the 13th based Cosplay Stream as OriginalPamelavoorhees Originaljasonvoorhees! We talked about how we got started doing this in our earlier blog posts so we won't go into that now. But we were thinking- why do we and so many other people run these Cosplay streams? Loads of different reasons to be honest. I think it's because many of us are so into a movie or character, that we kind of want to tap into and recreate what we love so much. For us, it's the art, music, comedy and style of the Movies. We want to have a go at being almost the director of our favorite Movies and Tiktok gives us this opportunity. But you don't just get to "direct" the videos you put out. You get to be the creative designer, Costume designer and prop maker too! The great thing with Tiktok is that you have access to so many sounds, that you don't really run out of ideas for vids. You can bring in ideas from other Movies that you love or, you can use trending sounds and add your own flair. Trends are brilliant with Cosplay because you can put out a vid but from the perspective of your character and act it out the way you'd expect them to act. Your vid will get a better reaction from fans of the actual Movie & Character depending on how well you did the vid!

Talking of fans of the actual characters.. This is what being on tiktok brings. We've said it before, but it's like having an open door that anyone in the World can walk through. The amount of fellow Friday the 13th fans we have met is unbelievable. That's what we want. It's being able to talk with others who love the movies as much as us. It's being able to have your creations possibly watched by those people and hoping to do a good job of it!

So Pamela and me really are over the moon to be on Tiktok and have an outlet to be able to express ourselves on, whether it be through putting out funny, scary or emotional content. So glad Ma wanted us to create our accounts! Like all of our Cosplay friends, we want to just carry on and try our best to get better at it..��

Getting ready for our Halloween Special!

It's been a blast getting ready for this!

Growing up in the UK, Halloween never used to be as big as it is now for us. Our Parents never used to encourage it or really want us going out trick or treating, but now... Jeeze. People go mental for it! I think it's all of the American Movies we've grown up watching where they seem to go all out! The streets where we live now- they decorate their houses and front gardens. The Supermarkets have dedicated isles full of costumes, sweets & pumpkins... Families sit down watching Movies like Hocus Pocus and the more brutal ones like our favorites, Friday the 13th, Halloween & Jeepers Creepers.

This a time when Me, Pamela & theClassicmichaelMyers (and our Kids)get super excited. Why's that then??? Because we're Cosplay Artists and to us, Halloween is probably bigger than Christmas!! We dress up scary all year round. We're always watching spooky Movies and listening to music from slasher flicks. Of course we love Halloween! We Livestream on tiktok and have so many friends who dress up as their favorite Horror Characters too. We all get super G'ed up that Halloween takes center stage throughout the month of October. There's so much spooky content building up through the month on social media leading up to a shit ton of parties at the end of the month.

Pamela and I always run a yearly Halloween Special Livestream. We love doing it so much and bring in our friend @theclassicmichaelmyers to help us put on a bit of a performance. Me and Pamela both make a Halloween/spooky themed mask in the build up(shown in the pic above) that we give away on the live that starts at 7pm UK time on Saturday 29th October. We have been making tiktok videos wearing the masks and anybody who wants to win them just has to duet any of those videos. We'll pick our favorite 13 duets and then get our son Little Jason to draw out the two winners on the Live. We'll then post out the two masks to the winners wherever they live. It's such an enjoyable thing for us!

That build up to the event is quite tough really Because there's quite a bit of organising. We have to design the masks and then get the vids uploaded. Also, plan the live out by selecting lighting, music, and performance pieces. Also decorating our livestream area, getting new props together.. We love to have guests call us wearing their outfits during the live so have to make contact with the friends who will be coming on. Quite a few things to sort but we finished the masks early this year. That gave us more time to get the vids done and not be doing things at the last minute like I always seem to be! Being well prepared is key to planning an event. It cuts out the stress element so you can enjoy it more.

We try to think about our events in advance. Events are fantastic for your stream. New masks or costumes keep your content fresh and let us go in different directions trying new things. We love performing and putting on a show! Should I keep a diary based around my streaming activities?

For us, keeping track on how things are going is a must!

Welcome to Originalpamelavoorhees and Originaljasonvoorhees's Blog. We are Friday the 13th based Cosplay artists who love to perform, listen to music, share content and have a bit of banter with our friends. Please check out our other blog posts where we share our thoughts around running our Cosplay stream and social accounts.

Should we keep a diary? We defo think it's a good thing to constantly note down how things are going for sure. The amount of times we've done long lives where lots of different things have been going on. When you finish a live, it's good to set some time aside to reflect. What worked well? What wen't down like a sack of sh...!? Did anyone call who seemed like they would be good to have on the stream again? How was the lighting? Were there any moments that you loved that you'd like to do more of? Did you have a moment when maybe someone called and they said something you didn't like and all of a sudden it turned into a bit of an argument?

All of those questions, we like to ask ourselves straight after lives so that maybe we can make things better. We don't use a diary as such but are big fans of notebooks. We mentioned before when we spoke about sorting your pre live set up area and making a list. It's about trying to streamline your offering. We like to work out what works and what doesn't. If we don't make notes, we tend to forget certain things. You can really break down what you do on your stream. Then refine. Even writing this blog helps us because its us reflecting on different elements from our stream. Working out what works best for us and losing what doesn't.

If we tried playing new tunes- what ones would we play again? What ones to forget. What new tiktok filters did we think looked cool? Will we use them again? I remember once, Ma used a cool looking ghost filter when she was singing a song. When we looked back at the live replay, we noticed that the ghost was howling all the way through Ma's performance! It must have sounded hilarious!�� Not what we were going for that time. Note written! No Ghost filter during any singing or rapping ever again!!

When we look at our live replays, were we happy with how we presented? How was the energy? Maybe doing the stream feeling tired wasn't a good idea. Remember, your viewers will like certain things but are you happy with that style? You have to be happy doing what you do otherwise you may be unhappy in the long run. Work at including the things you love doing. You don't want going live to become tedious. Again, really think about what it is you like to do. Is there anything that you feel really uncomfortable about or do you get really anxious about a certain thing? Why is that? Me and Ma like to have a practice at what we think we could do better.

So to wrap up our short post, yes we feel documenting and making notes after live streams are definitely worth doing. Try to find what works best for you. Once you do that, you can carry on tweaking and reflecting back resulting in a more polished stream. Before you know it you'll be able to cut out the bits that you feel aren't worth keeping in. Maybe you'll identify other things you are not doing at all that you can start to put in. Sometimes things work. Other times they don't. Don't be scared of failure. Just try to learn from it!

How hard should I be working on my stream and content offering?

It really depends on what you want from your stream

Streaming and Live hosting is a fantastic creative outlet which gives you the platform to really connect with people around the World. It's so rewarding in so many ways but can be a lot of hard work. To be honest, when thinking about how hard you should be working on your stream, first you need to work out what it is you actually stream for? Maybe you stream to make new friends and enjoy the social aspect of it. Money may be your motivation and the opportunity to stream gives you the potential to be gifted where you can turn it into a side hobby/hustle. It could be that you want to showcase a particular talent you're proud of. Do you sing? Are you a Rapper? Do you enjoy hosting Quizzes? Maybe your thought's and opinions are super entertaining. You may be extremely good looking and people love to watch your vids. Or is it a Cosplay themed stream like Pamela and myself? In that case I bet you love to create atmospheric content that feels like the Movie character and Movies you base your Cosplay on. There's the opportunity to really push your vids and show off your budding directing skills and that gets you excited. Some people just like to live stream for a laugh or a bit of a chat. We do it for a few reasons.

Obviously the amount of work you will have to put in will vary depending on your aims. If you are getting serious about your offering, then you need to be prepared to put a lot of hard work in. It's the stream area set up that you'll have to streamline through experimentation that we talked about in the last two blog posts. Investing in your lighting and sound equipment costs money. New outfits and props. Any art supplies and masks- you will all need to pay for. But these costs are worth it we think. Me and Ma like to put gifts that we have been lucky enough to get towards these things but also buy what we need to keep our stream fresh. People want to see the evolution of your stream so investing in is a must for us. We put work into our plans for our stream like a lot of our friends. Even making sure we have a monthly Youtube subscription is worth it so you don't have to wait for adverts to play out goes towards being that much more professional. Hard work plus strategic decisions.

For the more serious people, you have to really put in lots of time on camera actually streaming to build your community. Me n Ma stream most nights and most of the weekend too. As we've said before, this naturally makes you better at it but as we've said before, the long hours can burn you out, so be prepared for that and make sure you get enough sleep in where you can! Family things come up. Take the time away to deal with these important things. The long time spent on camera will also have it's issues and situations to deal with. Like before, our advice is to stay positive and avoid drama. Drama brings nothing positive. Just derails and f*cks up a good opportunity for both parties involved. Strictly move forwards at all times.

Trying new things and changing/shaking up your content is good too. Looking at different editing software can bring new exciting directions. When Capcut came out, all of a sudden, we were able to add a new depth of atmosphere to our vids that we never had before. But it wasn't easy to use at first. We worked at it and now I have certain effects that I use as a signiture style now that can be put together quickly. Ma is the same. If you look at her Tiktok account, you will see that she loves to put together vibey vids with awesome music. It takes time to search for songs and sounds but we notice that that hard work pays off.

So you can really identify certain areas that you can break up and work on that when then all put together, really get great results! Hard work pays off where needed. That's the long and short of it. You may also be just doing your stream as a bit of fun escapism. Nothing wrong with that. You decide how hard you're going to have to work on your stream.

How to decide on the right lighting for your live stream

It's got to suit what you are trying to achieve

What kind of stream are you running?

This is what you need to decide on yourself. What kind of lighting do you want? When me and Ma first started on tiktok, we wanted a scary dark atmosphere, where we'd be moving in the shadows using light to kind of highlight our movements. This worked really well and our viewing figures reflected that. Our Characters are dark so the ambiance needs to reflect that. What we did is experiment with the lighting until we found exactly what worked well. Then we added the setup to our check list. After that we made slight adjustments here and there with every live stream we did, at the same time letting the checklist evolve in an effort to streamline our visuals. Now when we used to stream from our bedroom, we had a problem in the day time because it would be hard to make the room dark with our big windows but we found a way with a bit of problem solving. We throw in different lighting moments combined with sounds and music to aid the feeling we are going for.

Now that is the lighting for when we are in Character performing where it's less chatting and taking calls. When we sit down and communicate more with our friends and viewers, at times we like to lighten things slightly to show what we are wearing. We sit down and actually be ourselves and talk more about Cosplay and just try to get to know people more.

Sometimes we'll jump on live in an outdoor environment. Obviously we won't have much control over lighting in these situations. It's more a case of positioning the camera (phone) in a suitable position. For this you'll have to move around until you're happy with the visuals. One thing we find is not to have the sun behind you. On camera you become more of a shadow/silhouette but as I say, it's best to try a few positions until you are happy. Some people like that shadowed effect.

For things like mask making, you won't need a dark environment. Quite the opposite. A well lit room works here but if you want the thing you're working on to be more lit up, we use a lamp pointed at the mask.

All in all it trial and error but then note what works and then go from there. You should always try to make things better as you go. I do think that viewers like to see the changes and improvements so don't worry that everything is not perfect straight away. Viewers will feed back their views anyway.

How to decide what music to play on your Stream

It should be suitable to your Cosplay but also be a reflection of you

In this post we're going to chat about how we decide what music to play during our lives. So this is the part we love actually! We touched on it before on a previous blog post when we were talking about what you should think about when running your own Horror inspired stream. It's about creating the appropriate atmosphere for the character you are trying to portray. We are Pamela and Jason Voorhees. They are brutal Maniacs, so the music can be frantic and hard hitting. So we look to a lot of 80's Rock as it's perfect because many of our favorite Friday the 13th Movies were from that period. Some we play are from the actual movies but we are always trying to find different Rock tunes that we like to keep our shows fresh. We also love to put Rap and some Dubstep in too as once again they are hard hitting and bring that high energy that is needed to suit violent Pamela or Jason moments.

If you look at the Friday the 13th Movies, you will see that it's not just crazy Counsellor kills the whole time. There are emotional moments in there too as well as funny bits. You can try to find music that reflect this. People like to ride the emotion roller coaster with Horror Movies and music is key to this. We like to use music to help to set the mood. If we've had a few hard tunes playing for a while, we can then bring in a softer but powerful emotional song where along with the right performance you can really change the feeling for the viewers. We love to play the odd funny song here and there where we joke around a bit and try not to take things too seriously.

The beauty of Music is that if thought through properly, you can really change up your shows as needed. You also take note of what works well and what doesn't for future playlist planning. Again, working with Pamela is brilliant in that we both have ideas around musical choices. Two heads are better than one! For example, Ma loves a bit of Trance and other types of dance music. She doesn't just like one genre. Like me, she's open to anything as long as it's a good! Tunes she loved growing up- they get put in. Her Dad loved a bit of Roy Orbison- we've dropped in a few of his amazing songs. A bit of opera. Some brit pop. Music from other Movies. All good. Then our mate theclassicmichaelmyers gives us a few suggestions here or there- in they go. He's got a few bangers he's suggested for us.

We take song requests here and there during lives- if we like them, they get noted down. You have to be ever evolving. You need to be passionate about this process. Make it fun for yourself. See it as a challenge. You can build up your whole set around the music actually. Well that's what we find.

What are some of our favorite Movies?

With Movies it depends on how you're feeling.

Listen, this question is a hard one as you may be thinking so instead of us giving you one Movie, we'll list out a few of our favs and say why.

Friday the 13th (Obviously!) This movie is the start to our favorite Horror Movie franchise. We actually love the first 8 movies and their continuity for the mix of comedy, horror and sex! But it goes deeper than that. It's the bada$$ music and soundtrack and the amazing special effects too. We both discovered these Movies growing up. Who doesn't know these movies!

George A. Romero's Day of the Dead. Ma showed me this Movie when I first met her. She loves it and I do too. A mix of atmosphere and the music. The actual Soundtrack is phenomenal. It's the struggle against the crazy Captain that is scarier than the Zombies. But our favorite character in the movie is Bub! When he discovers that his beloved Professor is no more, you really feel for him but we know how that ends!

The Amityville Horror. This movie we love. Would defo recommend. If you're a fan of the Paranormal, then this one's for you but be prepared to be scared. The intro music is creepy. Old school Classic with some phenomenal acting!

Mrs Doubtfire! Now this one has been a family favorite of ours for years. Our kids love it as much as us! It's the mighty Robin Williams at his finest dressing up as a Nanny because he wants to still see his children after a messy divorce. His impressions are on point. The movie makes us cry as much as laugh!

Twins. Remember, when you think back to the movies you love, a lot of the ones you think about are the ones you loved as a kid. This one stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito, who are genetically created twins separated at birth who then meet up. It's the chemistry between the two that is good here. DeVito is a bit of a hustler/crook while Arnold is a good guy who hasn't had much life experience. Super feel good film this.

Goodfellas! This movie was the first Gangster film I watched. Ma loves it too. Joe Pesci, although short in height is an absolute menace and the "d'you think i'm funny" scene or the one where he makes the bartender dance get you! Ray Liotta and Robert De Niro at their finest. After watching this one, you'll want to check out Casino im sure!

Making Masks for your Cosplay stream

An outlet for creativity

Running our own friday the 13th inspired Cosplay stream is so much fun. Ask Pamela and she'll tell you she loves it. I love it. We have other friends that do their own streams too and they are awesome and bring their own style and flavor to the mix! People like Tommy ROTN, OG Horror to name a couple we love. After all the Friday the 13th Movies are loved by so many around the world.

Making or modifying masks is just one element of what we do on our streams. We have loads of other friends who make their own masks. Mr Myths & GT Forbidden work on new bada$$ projects. Our mate Walking leaf is always modifying masks too. It allows you to bring your creative juices to the table and save a few pounds/dollars but also freshen up your content. I've always loved drawing and painting. Ma's always loved adding bling to items and accessories. Without our stream we wouldn't really have an outlet for both of our love for creating.

Now what we do is take a mask that we have or one purchased from Amazon, sand off the old design and create a blank canvas. From that point you can go in whatever direction you want, be it, going down the blingy route Ma takes or Painting up like me. Ma carefully comes up with her design and draws on the guide pattern. From there she uses a glue gun and adds the diamante's. She loves putting in the work aiming for the end result. The lighting really works well with her masks during our live performances and help towards the atmosphere she tries to create. I like to paint using acrylics, building up until i'm happy with the end result. I put a couple of coats of varnish on to finish.

You can do the same with props too to customize to what you want. You do have to think about what is allowed on your stream so may not be able to post up anything to bloody or gory. Bare that in mind. That is a frustration when basing your cosplay on a violent Movie and characters. The amount of vids that have been removed that we have posted. We use different tactics to get around this but sadly some content is borderline so you have to be careful.

All in all Mask making and overhauling are amazing outlets if you are a creative person. Some people aren't artistic. That's ok. There's loads of other things can be done on your streams. A bit of singing or rapping like Chief Williams or Jaron 1988. Or 30 days of Halloween like Amijay where she does a different face painting style for every day of October. Zombabe Jenn's different face painting styles are fantastic too! You can get creative doing whatever you want.

Let people know how you really feel when live streaming

Sometimes differences of opinion if given respectfully can make for a great conversation.

In this post we are going to talk about how you are on your stream around opinions. Obviously like we've said before, trying to keep things positive is one of our strategies. We'll always try to stay that way. But sometimes things happening in life can effect your mood. Situations that have made you angry. There may be something coming up at work that you are worried about. Stay positive on stream. Trolls come in saying this and that. Ignore.

When it comes to your opinions on things, it's best to be real. We're not saying to start telling everyone that you don't get on with that you don't like them. I'm talking about your views and opinions when asked questions. It's easy to do a bit of fence sitting but sometimes it takes one person to give an honest opinion to then get the conversation going. Even if others don't agree with you, that's fine. Some people will agree. If you stay humble and polite, your opinions will be valued or at least respected.

Courtesy and politeness

Pamela and I run our streams often and like a lot of people, we try to welcome in and give everybody a chance. Excluding trolls that is. We take duel live calls from our friends and new people to keep our stream interesting. There have been times when the person calling starts to slag another live streamer off to us. We can't tolerate this behavior. It's negative and goes against the rules of our stream.

Getting back to voicing opinions. If the cosplay you base your stream on is around a movie, take the time to watch the movie and really try to absorb and engross yourself in it so if asked, you can then really offer your thoughts on it. A lot of your followers will really look forwards to chatting with you and finding out your thoughts.

We talk to our friends who are also Cosplay artists often. It's really enjoyable finding out about what they do. How did they get into it? If they're horror fans, which movies did they grow up on? What are their thoughts around what makes a good Cosplay artist? We try to give our honest thoughts too and this makes a great chat to have on stream. Sometimes differences of opinion if given respectfully can make for a great conversation.

All in all, chatting with friends we make is awesome. We don't do face reveals and I put on an accent but we try to be real and just try to show love, positivity and support where we can. We try to challenge ourselves to give truthful opinions if asked but definitely keep it pleasant but if any rudeness comes our way we try not to react to it negatively but execute our right to use the block feature!

The importance of video Playlists on tiktok

This is a game changing moment when you get this option!

Playlists are something that can really help you to organise your videos and account on tiktok and here's why having the option is a game changer! Above is a screen shot of our account originaljasonvoorhees to show you where the Playlists are.

If you are like Pamela and myself, you put out all kinds of different content. Certain vids will appeal to some people while other vids will appeal to others. Once you have been on the app for a while, you will have built up a number of videos and to a certain degree, there's no organisation to it all.

Once you reach 10,000 Followers, Playlists become available to you! Me and Ma really love this option because all of a sudden, we were able to put all of our similar content together in seperate Playlists. This works really well actually. Anything really lighthearted and funny we group together and put into a Playlist marked up with a ��. Because we make brutal Jason Voorhees inspired Vids, we have a Playlist called Heck No! Any vids I collaborate with originalpamelavoorhees on I put those into the Playlist Giggles with Pamela and the vids that I make with our friend who likes to dress as The Shape go into the Playlist Theclassicmyers��.

Like we say, this is brilliant for your friends as it makes it really easy for them to find exactly what they like about you. You have total control of what goes into each Playlist too. We try to put only our best videos in actually. Lets say we have 6 types of different but similar content, we'll put those together as one Playlist. The beauty of it is that once a Playlist is created and someone clicks on it, the vids autoplay once each one ends. The viewer will get to watch all 6 vids back to back unless they stop the vid. Each vid is called an episode.

You can be super creative with your Playlists and drop new episodes whenever you want. We have individual ones for our Mask Making, Counsellors, duets, Mask characters and Events. These Playlists make up the structure of the kind of content we put out regularly. It gives you a kind of formula to work towards. They can help to highlight what you don't do too. You know, if you do a lot of one type of content, you can then decide to try something new and then run with that.

With Playlists, older valued content that you're proud of can now be viewed regularly without having to pin to the top or for the viewer to have to scroll way down your profile page. We'd advise you to use this feature without a doubt. It'll add a level of professionalism to your offering and just may lead you to trying something totally different!

Trying to keep your live stream positive

Avoid the negative dark side!

So if you've been running your stream for a few years like us, I bet you have a few stories to tell about the ups and downs that you've faced! We have too. You're dealing with people here. Of course you are going to have a few run ins. Clashes of opinion. Sometimes people over step the mark or get out of line with what they think they can say to you. Other times people keep inboxing you about things you don't want to speak about and become a bit of a pest. This is a really small minority and i'm glad to say it doesn't happen too often but I remember someone I didn't even know who would keep sending messages, slagging off someone else who I was following and when we told them we don't get involved with that stuff, they sent a really angry message and then blocked us. Oh well. We just do our stream and focus on that. Any friends we make, we try our best to support their vids where we can. Anyone we have a falling out with, we just move on. No grudges. But we move on. Because we want to live and breathe positivity. Everyone already has a life to live that has it's struggles. So we do not want any of it online.

Listen, if shit hits the fan and you have situations arise where you have to block someone or you get blocked, just try to forget the bad vibes and don't hold onto any of that negative feeling. Nothing can be gained by bringing up peoples names. Nothing can be gained by gossiping about the people. We don't mention these situations or the people's names who were involved. I wouldn't like to influence how someone else feels about the person we've fallen out with. Once apon a time, they were a friend but things never worked out. You make your own mind up. End of.

We hear about people reporting and trying to get people suspended or banned. Don't waste yourself. Think of all that time wasted. You could be working on your own content or ideas for your stream and really progressing forward. A couple of times we've felt like we've been going through shadow bans due to mass reporting bringing in low numbers but to be honest, the numbers never matter too much. Any time hosting lives, makes you better at it regardless of the numbers.

One other thing we don't like is when one of our friends tells us that they've been bullied because they're friends with us. Again, these negative vibes cause unnecessary drama and really can upset people who do not deserve this treatment. The bottom line is that if you are a live host, stay positive and keep yourself busy with moving forward. Don't look backwards or stew on bad blood. There's nothing to be gained from it. Remember that people are watching you and they do judge how you act. Some people are actually a fan of you and the way you deal with situations. Don't let them down. I know loads of people who stop following their favorite hosts because they don't like the dramas they get involved in.

There are a ton of people who do love the dramas too though or the awkwardness of a big verbal fight. Or hosts who want to call people up to disrespect them. In the Horror Cosplay scene, all this does is attract hatred so we'd advise not to take this route. Remember this is just our thoughts and experiences. People are obviously welcome to do things the way they want to. We find that trying to keep it positive works well for us.

Get to know your followers

Then they can become your good friends!

Like we mentioned in an earlier blog post, we didn't expect to make as many friends as we have through our Tiktok live stream at all. It is unbelievable that you can have someone chat to you from places like Africa, Canada, Holland and America and that is just to drop in a few locations. Pamela says it on our stream all the time. Its a pleasure actually and for two people who haven't done much travelling, being a live host allows us to actually talk to people from different backgrounds and cultures without having to get on a Plane! This is one of the best things about streaming come to think of it.

We are Cosplay through and through but we don't actually have an official Family as such. Our amazing friends Welshlou, Pitbull and Amijay who we considered tiktok Fam anyway came up with the name and we have other amazing friends who have joined but we also just have incredible friends who we consider Fam anyway. Me and Ma just don't really do the official Family thing to avoid any unnecessary dramas and the "having to do" this and that that some Fam's have in their rules. Not all Fam's are like this at all and we are great friends with loads to be honest. Certain Fam's can actually make you stronger too without a doubt and also help you to be organised more so than you would be without them. We got Fam's who we love to support and they hit us back too which is always appreciated. Our Voorhees Fam is full of amazingly supportive peeps who are just like us and love to have a banter!

But to get back to this post, in our experience, if you get one with someone who comes into your stream regularly, we try to show them the same courtesy by watching their vids and supporting back where we can. Actually taking an interest in what they do and letting people know what you like about what they do can be encouraging and inspiring. We've all lose a bit of motivation sometimes don't we when we put out content and it doesn't do well. Isn't it nice when your friend gives you that bit of love. Sometimes when me or Ma get that kind of comment, it actually makes you want to get back to it or do more of what you got praised about. People can really be the thing that keeps you going!

It works the same the other way round so if I have a creator or friend I like, i'll support them. We have our regular friends come on and duel live us all the time. All of a sudden, your own live stream get's more interesting for your viewers because of these friends who regularly pop up on it!

Streamlining your Live Stream preperation

Try to adjust your set up area as needed!

Hi Guys, Hope you are having a great week so far..

This post is going to be around your stream area where you go Live and the way you have things set up. By now if you've read our previous blog posts, you pretty much know what we're all about so I won't delve into that in this post.

When we first started, we'd have our stream all set up in our bedroom, so each time we'd have to set up from scratch which would take a while. So you could be really ready to go live and in the mood to get started but it would be frustrating to have to set everything up. Going from bedroom mode into tiktok studio requires camera positioning, lighting adjustments, sound setup, visuals (putting up backdrops) and getting any props ready.. Now we try to have this all in place ready to go, so if we all of a sudden decide to go live, we can fairly quickly!

Working out what playlists to play should all be pre thought out really but that's not to say that Pamela and I don't chose music in the spur of the moment too. You should be putting in a bit of time looking into music and creating playlists in advance and not just before you go live because if you do try to sort then, it just delays things and slows you down and sometimes effects your mood before starting. What you need is to be able to go live as quickly as possible without having to do a load of pre stream setup.

Part of our setup that does need to be done is putting on our face makeup but we know exactly what to do through having done so many times. But do make sure you have enough supplies otherwise you'll end up using second choice colours. The amount of times Ma's used up all the black paint for me to look the part only to be let down by some less than scary dark red eye shadow!

Preparation is everything with streaming. You ask any live host and they'll agree. We find that check lists work super well. Write down a set up list and try to make it as efficient as possible. Let the lights out come last just before going live or you'll be searching in the dark for props and getting angry about it!

What we love about the Friday the 13th Characters

Pamela and Jason Voorhees' story is a sad one.

Me and Ma always mention in our lives how much we love the story and characters of Pamela and Jason. Jason, a boy who struggles with disability is ultimately failed by the very people who should have been keeping an eye on him. The Counsellers. Why? Because they were too busy frolicking about making love to notice poor old Jason drowning in Crystal Lake.

This in itself makes you the viewer be sympathetic and somehow root for Jason and his Mother Pamela. Don't get me wrong, Pamela is seeking revenge on any Counseller she comes across in Part 1, taking them out as if they were the actual ones who failed her boy. She's a tad deranged to say the least. The glimpse of Jason as a boy paved the way for this ghostly monster to come back from the dead time and time again. His look changed over the years, beginning with the Bag head in Part 2 and the the Iconic Hockey mask in part 3 but the formula pretty much stayed the same for the rest of the movies.

It always comes back to Jason rising again, following his Mother's instructions.. Ki Ki ki, Ma Ma Ma.. This atmospheric signature sound effect actually means kill for Mother. Pamela, who only really stars in Part 1, then makes a few cameo appearances throughout the sequels in Jason's visions or in flashbacks but really remains at the heart of the story. You can see that Jason is fully committed to Mothers instructions. It's the relationship between the two that shows their love for each other. Ride or die.

So there's that strong relationship of Mother and Son but also these are characters that are bada$$. The look of the two. The way Pamela speaks. The atmosphere when she asks Jason to live again in Freddy vs Jason really gets that movie off to an awesome start.

The look of Jason is one of brutality. Probs why he works so well as a character in Mortal Kombat! His signature Machete. Or the Harpoon he uses. Or the way he is everywhere on board the Ship in Jason Takes Manhattan. This dude is one cool looking baddie.

So it's this mix of heart felt story, cool looking Characters, jump scare and Comedy moments that have us loving the movies. The producers really did put a bunch of tunes into the mix and whacked in a bit of sex appeal with the teenagers making it one of the most successful teen slasher franchises ever. Any fan of horror movies should check out these movies!

Me and Pamela love them! We hope to keep trying out new things and experiment more with our stream and vids! Obviously we do go in our own direction with our interpretations but we do like to make vids with the Friday the 13th look that we love so much!

Staying inspired to run your Horror inspired Cosplay stream

What is it that inspires you?

Happy Friday! Another week down and the prospect of getting smashed up and live streaming all weekend for us! But how do you stay inspired? How do you keep it going? Are there moments when you feel like you can't be bothered?

Well the answer to that for us is yes. Sometimes we finish our day jobs, get home and feel like just having a chilled one.. What we do and I must stress this, is make sure we enjoy what we do. I had a break last night. I was shattered from work and doing our evening stream. We have a few drinks like i've said before and that sometimes builds up so we need a break. Little breaks are good as you then really look forwards to getting on the next time!

Our friend Theclassicmichaelmyers in the pic, chats to me and Ma about staying inspired and keeping up good regular routines. He works out a lot and that requires punishing/tiring work. To do that he says he tries to follow certain people that have similar interests who are doing well. Watching documentaries and seeking out tips and tricks are good. Googling anything you need to find out about and keeping diaries or journals.

Me and Ma have regular brainstorm sit downs around ideas keep us motivated but that also helps us with generating a to do list. We also stay inspired by looking out for our friends vids and showing them during our lives as we've mentioned before in earlier blog posts. I love to read autobiographies of people I look up to. I recently finished The Storyteller by Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters and that made me want to pick up a guitar again but also got me listening/searching for songs for our lives. For me, Autobiographies really help you to understand what someone did to get where they are now. Ma is always seeking out new music too. Playing the same old music can get you needing a change. She's amazing at finding new bangers to add as is Myers. Working with partners really helps to keep you motivated. Having that friendly bunch of peeps to live duel is good too!

Obviously for me and Ma, watching the Friday the 13th Movies really helps us. They made so many! This means there are different looks to work with to so help to keep things fresh. Myers does the same. Luckily on tiktok there are so many sounds that you can use too. Funny, sad, happy sounds.. Then you have loads of filters and also Capcuts to work with. We try out new bits and pieces and also have our different video categories to work towards.

Which Character would you really want to do a Cosplay for?

For Jason it would have to be Davros!

Cosplay really is a barrel of laughs for both of us. We love messing about making videos and getting to edit together exactly what we want. Growing up I remember watching the Rocky movies with my brother and Dad and really wanting to be Rocky, shadow boxing and fantasizing about going toe to toe with Clubber Lang or Drago. We never had the outlet for it back then but if I had Tiktok I would have been trying to make Rocky vids!

People always ask us in our lives, who would be our dream Character to do a Cosplay for? I'll cover off Pamela's answer to that in a later blog post, but for now i'm going to tell you mine. Davros, the leader of the Daleks!!!

Me and my 2 brothers grew up on Doctor Who from a young age. The Daleks are the most feared enemy of the Doctor, with Davros being their sinister Creator. As a kid I remember watching a rerun of Genesis of the Daleks where Terry Nation introduced this crazy Dude. He's a highly educated scientist who genetically modified the Kaleds removing any traces of humanity, turning them into the ultimate killing machines.

Davros was injured in a chemical explosion so he sits in his life support machine. The reason I would love to make vids as Davros is because he always goes off on one, ranting but I just think that he'd be a blast to try to portray. It's the atmosphere, lighting and music that would generate the creativity for me! Certain scenes could be great to act out. Responding to callers in character would be a blast! Dueting other cosplayers who do characters from the world of Doctor Who would really bring out the passion. That character for me is one that would be a dream.

How to keep going through tough times with your stream

Just try to enjoy what you do.

Hosting live streams is one of the most rewarding things someone can ever get into doing for many reasons. Me and Ma have said before that one of the reasons we love doing it so much is that you can channel all of what you love in life and put it into your stream in some way. The music you play brings in people who like the same songs as you. We love The Friday the 13th movies and have met so many fans and creators who are crazy about them too. Just cracking jokes and being friendly attracts like minded peeps. Sharing each other's content makes you friends who you look out for..

But what happens if your stream goes stagnant and your numbers drop down?

This could be for a few reasons. It could be that some idiot who has a grudge wants to derail you. Maybe you've run out of ideas. You may be going through some personal problems that is effecting your performance or hosting style. It could even just be an update that is effecting all hosts.

For me and Ma, our aim is to try not to worry too much about numbers. We try to host the same however many people are watching. It can in fact help you to go through these quieter patches. Any time spent live gives you time to practice. You actually get better naturally, the more you stream. It's like being in the gym- the more reps you do, the more your muscles develop. Shouts out to Arnold! So if you suspect your account is being troll targeted, don't worry. Just focus on putting on a good show and enjoying yourself.

Remember, being supportive helps you!

We spoke about community and the importance of support in our last blog post so we won't say it all again, but if you do look out for your friends where you can, you will already have people who will pop in to see you therefore helping your numbers. So do the Maths- support more people and receive more support yourself. Make sure you are being real in your support though and not doing it to just get it back. We try to honestly support people we like. Don't be fake with people- you will get caught out.

Making good quality Video content helps your live numbers

Sometimes you go through really productive stages with your vids. When you are pumping out good quality content, i've noticed our live stream numbers are better. Also keeping the posts regular helps too. If you go quiet and don't post often, that can effect your video views too. But if you have been quiet but then come out of nowhere with an amazing vid, you can get a good response. There's definitely an art to it all and you have to find what works best for you.

We look at our Analytics and check when our friends are most active. These are Defo worth looking at because it indicates good times to post videos or times to stream. The analytics also breaks down your video retention in a graph. That shows how long people watch your video for. You can then think of ways to alter your content to try to keep people watching for longer.

The long and short of it if your stream numbers drop is to not worry too much. Just make sure you're enjoying things and try to ride things out. Stay out of petty drama and try to be positive and don't moan too much. Make good friends and support them. Use any useful Analytics tools available to you. A big one for us is not to have any dead silence moments. Keep talking or get a song on!

Our streams are up and down but we always have a giggle. Oh well Ma lets just carry on!

How to grow your community

Being supportive is key!

Hello, hope you're ok today!

Community is everything when it comes to running your own social media Cosplay account. Whether it comes to Tiktok, Insta, Facebook or Youtube, community is the word and it all starts with you!

Interaction is what stokes this. Yes people may and will comment on your vids or come into your live- especially if they like what they see, but you should consider a bit of networking. Leaving the odd comment on creator's you admire. Showing them some support where you can. To us, this doesn't have to be religious and a have to do thing. We'll just show love where we can to the people we are friends with as a way of supporting them and helping them get out there more. A lot of our friends to the same for us and we appreciate it massively!

This is probably how we try to support the most. We find Jumping into our friends live streams all the time more difficult to be honest. It's because we are live so often ourselves. We do pop in where we can. It would be hard to be live all day and then go and watch lots of our friends streams. We have to make time for our kids too but also get in a lot of editing and creating vids and blog posts. So we try to support our friends videos a lot and repost on tiktok when possible. This pushes your friends vids to your followers.

Remember you are sometimes fighting against trolls being silly trying to slow your progress down. If you have great relationships with your friends, they can help you combat bad viewing numbers by showing you love back. Time and time again I see creators pushing out their material but not really bothering with other people. They hardly ever show love. Never comment. Fair enough. They may just want to release their material and that's it. Fine. Only thing is, you won't get that friendly community vibe of someone showing you love back.

We're only discussing what works for us here. Not everything that works for us will work for someone else and visa versa. For us, being friendly and supporting where we can works.

Now we know that community is so important, how do we move forward with that?

Well, we show our friends vids in our live streams to see what they've been up to. That exposes everyone to each other where they can then make friends. We all have a laugh and look forwards to what they all have coming up. Showing people's content also gives you inspiration to maybe try new styles yourself too. It helps us all. It makes you want to make that awesome vid you can be proud of.

So now we are part of a community, we are trying to grow it and offer more. We know our friends also love Cosplay and entertainment. That's why we made this blog. It's to discuss our obsession with people who may be interested. Weve jumped onto the other socials to meet more friends. Every social media platform has it's strengths and finding out about them will be interesting to explore. We just want to try to keep meeting new people and keep enjoying having fun.

Dealing with any problems around live streaming

Be prepared for things to go wrong.

Hey guys hope you're well!

So in this post we'll chat about the types of problems that may come up and how we usually deal with them..

When you first launch your stream after getting enough followers to go live, everything will start off fresh where you may not know that many people. The people you get coming in might be a mix of normal people and silly trolls.. Unless you've had a stream before, this is a new beginning.

Firstly, the trolls you get, if they are just silly comments, maybe try to laugh it off, or depending how silly you might joke back and more often than not, they may just move on. I would try not to get too responsive and angry really. This just gives them something to work with. For more rude horrible comments you need good moderators. Can't stress this enough. These type of comments can be more hurtful around appearance. We've seen hosts really upset. We have friends who go through it. Moderators can remove these type of trolls for you quickly. Good moderators can even spot a troll as soon as they come into your room. Sadly this removing suspected trolls sometimes leads to innocent people getting blocked. Its because the account "looked like" a troll.

Right, that's enough about trolls..

Technical Problems

You could be having an amazing stream one minute and then all of a sudden, your backdrop falls down.. Or your internet drops and youtube stops playing, leaving your stream in total silence. Maybe the coloured light bulb blows or someone knocks on your door.

What we try to do if we have any sudden problems is make a joke of them. Try to turn the problem into an entertaining moment. People will then see that we're only human like everybody else. All streamers and hosts will know what you're going through, probably be sympathetic and laugh along with you.

We would suggest though that when it comes to things like backdrops- make sure they are secured properly. With light bulbs- definitely have spares. Ma managed to spill a glass of vodka diet coke all over my laptop once - NEVER PUT YOUR DRINKS NEXT TO YOUR ELECTRICS MA!!!��

If people knock at your door, just end your live and pick up again once you've told them you're busy!! Can be annoying if you have a load of makeup on your mush like us! Buy some wet wipes!

We have an alcoholic beverage for dutch courage most times but don't over do it. You could make a mug of yourself or say the wrong thing. Try to keep everything in moderation.

Mostly, just try to plan out and have backup options and just try to learn from your own experiences with things going wrong.

Lets hope nothing goes wrong but at the end of the day, the odd thing going wrong isn't too much of a worry really. Just hope Ma's charged up our backup phones!'��

The Gifting culture

Still can't believe it!

A few years ago before we were on tiktok, I was watching a Reggie Yates show on BBC I Player where he was looking into China and visiting different locations. He went over to various parts but the bit that caught my eye was when he was given a tour of this massive facility that had multiple rooms. Each room had a different person inside hosting a live stream. The Hosts were all doing very well and it was a super organised affair. This blew my mind- I had to show Pamela! Just couldn't believe the set up but I think that's when we first had our eyes opened to professional streaming. I heard this and that before about gaming streams and poker ones but never really thought too much of it really.

When Tiktok launched the live element, Ma and I had been already messing about making vids. Covid hit and we couldn't really leave the house so we started to stream doing quizzes playing tunes and having banter.. We spoke about how we got into cosplay in our previous blog posts but I always remember back when we saw the facility in China and how the company built its business around streaming!

Well that's another reason people do go into streaming. It's trying to be successful. It's having an outlet to actually try to make money. People get stuck in jobs and want other options. Listen, when I got my first phone, you could just about call someone. Texting was cumbersome. But there was Snakes! Anyone like that game? �� Nowadays your phone can be your key to opening many doors. We reach beautiful people all over the world from our humble phones. Without it, no stream. Without it, no platform to try to host a positive vibe. Without it, no way of earning money via that route.

What Ma and I try to do is try to make our streams entertaining and if we are lucky enough to have anyone in with us tapping and sharing, we are over the moon! Any time we're gifted, we try to reinvest back into buying new props, lighting, costume and just try to improve really. If you ask any tiktoker or live streamer how they feel about being gifted, I bet they will all say surprised! We're talking about people spending their hard earned cash on someone they like. It's an unbelievable thing that me and Ma can't say thanks enough for. My advise to any host is to be sure to say thanks. I know its obvious but the amount of people I see who don't. You can miss things though to be fair.

What we're saying here is that you can try to get serious with your stream and there are possibilities to do well. What are you going to do with that platform if you do well?

I want to stream but what shall I do on my live?

It must be relevant to what you're all about.

Super into the idea of streaming but don't really know what to stream?

Well Me and Ma are a Cosplay act that is inspired but the Friday the 13th Movies. So what we need to do is create an atmosphere with visuals and sound. A vibe. I need to look like Jason Voorhees and Ma needs to look like Pamela Voorhees, or our interpretation of them. Lighting is very important. Sound is too as we'll play bada$$ music and sounds from the movies. We experiment a lot with these but that's the gist of it and the main basic thing we need aim for. Get the atmosphere right to suit your Cosplay. It's trying to create a world and then building on it and trying to get better.

Other things to do?

What we love to do as I mentioned before in our post about events, is to think up a theme and then both start working on a mask for that upcoming event. Now this also creates streaming opportunities. I studied art for years and never really used it for much until now of course (above pic). Same with Ma- she's been using diamante's to decorate clothing for a while prior to our stream but it's something that has become her thing. We work on our masks live which is interesting for our friends who share the same interests. We make new friends with people who stop in just to see what we're up to and some of our friends just want to come in to show support and see how the new mask's coming on.. We're very lucky to have some amazing friends to be honest. It takes time to build up genuine relationships- you have to be patient.

You could also include playing games to change up your stream. We host fun music quizzes or play games of I went to the shop when we're dueling our mates. We love a bit of singing, rapping or just having banter. We include these into our lives.

We like to show people's content in our lives as a way of finding inspiration. If your mate has just uploaded a sick vid, that may spur you on or inspire you in some way. You need to see what else is out there to get the old juices flowing. We have lots of talented friends who do all sorts. I'm talking Musicians, Comedians, rappers, quiz masters, Grow hosts... People like Chief Williams and Jaron 1988 come on and perform their latest tunes they're working on. Exclusive! Our mates, Amijay , WelshLou , Gillybean , Pitbull , Walkingleaf , Fernando ... I could go on and on with names, but these guys have been friends with us for ages. You'll always see them jumping in and dueling us from time to time so our other friends know them very well.

That helps our stream loads. It's introducing your friends and followers to other peeps from all over the world. Catching up and seeing what these guys are going through and also keeping an eye on what they have planned. Very important to make good friends who you can catch up with.

So for us, we try to stream firstly around the characters we portray but then break down the other bits. So art projects. Music and performance. Sharing content. Catching up with friends. There are other things but you get the picture. Change is good. Keep regular elements but introduce change.

Don't let anything stop you

Life get's in the way, but stay strong!

Hey Guys, hope you're well! As I write this post, Ma's currently shaking her stuff on Tiktok, having a blast with our friends! I'm on my lunch break at work where I try to work on our website and Blog for the hour. We both have our full time jobs but make time for our live stream project in between. We also try to go live every day, just to keep things moving- we love running our stream and want to get better!

I'm not gonna lie, sometimes it does kind of take over your life! We have 3 teenage kids and other things going on like everyone else does. Things pop up all the time! We've made a decision to crack on and give it our all. Sometimes you get tired and feel like chilling in front of the telly, watching Netflix. You have to fight against it. Other times, sh*t may have hit the fan or we're both in bad moods.. Too bad. Crack on and do your scheduled stream. You soon get into it and end up having a blast.

Being organised is very important. If you kind of plan ahead, you start to become quite efficient. You can split up your to do list and set time aside like we do. We put time in on mask making and creativity. Actually making videos with sounds we've found. Even sitting down just looking for the sounds takes a bit of work. Then we have time locked in for the live streaming itself.

Our advice to anybody doing streams is to keep to your scheduled lives as much as you can. You will soon get used to just getting on with it whatever the mood you're in. Like we mentioned in previous posts, good friends will cheer you up anyway. Don't let that bad mood stop you.. Obviously if it was something really serious or bad, we wouldn't go live. Sometimes you need a break. But keeping everything up regularly will attract a returning crowd.

That is when you start to build up your visibility and people start to notice you!

Live Events

We love to put on a show for our friends! ��

Mother and I love to organise themed events for our live stream, where we both overhaul a Hockey mask to give away in a competition. We have done Christmas ones in the past and St Patrick's day and of course our fav of all, Halloween! Last Saturday night Ma wanted to do a competition event to celebrate my birthday, so we both chose to have a rock theme.

I chose to paint up my Mask in the style of Corey Taylor's Slipknot one and Pamela decided to do a Kiss inspired mask with diamante's. The masks Ma makes are performance masks designed to dazzle with our lighting setup. She makes these live and you can catch her making one for our upcoming Halloween event. Same for me, keep an eye out.

We do these for a bit of fun and to try to keep our stream fresh with new ideas and different content. We also love to give the masks to our friends who want to win one because they like what we do. Lets face it- it's nice to get a good reaction and feel that someone appreciates you!

Once we make our masks, the competition rules are: if you duet any of our vids where we're wearing the masks, you are entered. Then we both pick our favourite 13 entries who we announce on the night and then place all names into the hat. Little Jason or our friend theclassicmichaelmyers then draw out the 2 winners during the event. We actually had a blast for my birthday and our Rock event. Thanks to everyone who came in and showed us all so much love! ❤

Shouts out to @amijay and @buddyredneck on the wins! Its so fun to have people entering and duetting our vids. It's super appreciated!

Ma tells me she loves the whole planning element of our Event Streams.. You just want your friends to enjoy the night, but with cosplay, you have to make sure that the lighting and sound are all set up ok.. Then there may be some new costume you need to factor in, with different accents.. Or we may ask our friend theclassicmichaelmyers to join us, but then need to work out who's doing what.. Then, we try to get Little Jason to help but he always stresses us out (he's a good lad really!).

These nights are awesome. They are different from our usual lives.. We try to make them more of a performance. A little bit of singing, dancing and drinking.. You have to be careful with the booze because it can effect your performance! The amount of times we've been a bit out of it!

The power of friendliness and Politeness..

These magical words go a long way!

Me and Ma have worked a few jobs in our time and the thing that we've noticed the most is that it doesn't cost anything to be polite, warm and friendly. Nothing at all. Magical words like; Please, Thankyou, How are you?... Nothing groundbreaking but you can really bring up someone's day by just asking how they are and they then take that energy off with them to pass on to whoever they come into contact with. It passes on and in these funny old times we live in, we need all the happiness and positivity we can get!

We notice that it goes the other way too. Someone being rude or unnecessarily short with you can really rub off, so, everyone has the power to effect a person's day.

That is the power a live streamer has. It's opening your door to the world. It's creating a safe welcoming place. You create a community where you build up a group of like minded people who share an interest. Sometimes you meet people who are totally different. As they say, opposite's attract. But it's the trying to be kind and asking how someone is, that we try our best to do and when you get people coming in who bring that themselves- they start to brighten your day!

Our love for The Friday The 13th Movies is the base for our community. Those Movies are Bada$$! The Characters amazing. The comedy throughout the series, just as good as the stylized violence. What we find is that the other interests that we have- Music, 80s Movies(all good Movies really!), TV & entertainment, collectibles (figures) & Comedy, comedy, comedy!!!!!!! - our friends seem to love too!

It takes time to build up a solid community of people you trust. You just have to keep up with your scheduled streams and don't get over personal! Obviously, opening up your stream to everybody will bring in some silly ones. Sorry, but that's what you sign up for when you decide to host live streams. Like Walking Leaf said.. "you paint a big red target on your back". He's right and we find that your best not to respond to any troll comments. Instead, ignore and they'll get bored. Try to get a good friend to moderate for you.

So if you are a Live stream Host, don't forget about saying those very easy to say words and phrases.. (hello, how are you? Lovely to see you. Hows your day been? Please. Thankyou)

Welcome everybody who comes into your stream!

You gain lots amazing friends without expecting it! We make them our Counsellers..

When we first came on tiktok, we knew what we wanted to do, kind of how we would do it, what we wanted out of it, but gaining friendships wasn't something we thought about much. Maybe because there's something deep down that maybe our generation, or maybe just me, is quite wary of getting to know people you meet online. Maybe it's all of the catfish stories you read or shows you see. Maybe it's the Tinder horror stories you read about. It may just be someone's sensible side coming out, thinking that that Profile pic you see of someone you are talking to may not actually be them and that they are not at all what they portray themselves as. What I guess i'm saying is that there is a level of trust you need to have before you actually become friends.

Well on tiktok, for us, it's different when making friends. On this platform, if it's live streaming that you desire, you get in Grow/Connect rooms to up build your account as quick as you can. You add people up at the drop of a hat. And I mean anyone. After you get to your target, you can then start to review your following list, removing any dead accounts or fake inactive ones because you actually want to be following people who are active and who may interact with you (or just people you are like or are a fan of!). After all, you are trying to build an engaging community. My point here though, is that you are exposed to lots of people, so you need to be careful.

That's one way of gaining friends but another (and this was the unexpected way), is through who you meet when you are performing on your Lives. People of all backgrounds come into your Stream. Good and bad. Kind and not so kind. Funny and weird. Artists and Comedians. All types of people. At first, it may be them popping in to say hi. Then they may keep popping back or gift you here or there. All of a sudden, after a few weeks, that person might call you on a duel live and you have a chat, get on like a house on fire and then start to do it more often! Gillybean54 , (in the pic) used to come in our streams all the time in the early days and really support us and still does, which we are super grateful for! Unbelievable actually.. We have made so many great friends like her, too many to mention actually, but I wanted to mention Gilly, because she was our our second ever Counseller (over 2 years ago) and we all still get on like a house on fire! We do have a first Counseller, but we never got his name. One day we may get to have a chat with him though..

Our Counseller vids are our way of shouting out someone who we have had an awesome chat with on a Duel Live on tiktok. We ask a few questions and then put up a vid around what we've spoken about. These are important to Ma and I. They are also to introduce these new people to our community so they can make new friends too.. The name Counseller comes from the Friday the 13th Movies- Ma blames them for Jason's Death!

Bringing in The Classic Michael Myers and little Jason

We find that collaboration makes your stream more interesting!

We have a great friend who saw us doing our streams very early on, supported us a lot, suggested music for us to play and would also just be a someone we'd run ideas by. He told us he was going to start a Myers based Cosplay stream of his own which we thought was an awesome idea. He started it up and did an awesome job! The thing me and Ma love is that we sometimes get him to make an appearance on our streams. He brings his vibe which is different to mine, but then different to Pamela's. That is what collaboration brings.

Its having that other person's input which could be anything. It's the same with making videos. You may have someone who is a big fan of a certain Movie or Comedian or type of music. Something is suggested, then you go in that direction. Theclassicmichaelmyers is a big fan of Metal and lots of other music. A lot of songs we play, come from him. He is also a big fan of the first Terminator Movie and you can tell that in his vids..

We recently made a Planes Trains and Automobiles vid that did really well on tiktok! We made that one after I made a funny "in bed" one with Ma. Myers said something about Planes trains and I thought of that scene and then Ma filmed us.

Having 3 of us is brilliant as it means one can always film the other two, but we can cut it together so we can all be in a vid when needed as well. So many of our videos where we're all in there seem to do well. We'd advise collaboration with friends for sure but its got to be a like minded individual who shares some of your passions. Then you can really enjoy crafting/creating together!

Myers loves video games, like us, and we collaborate with him streaming Resident Evil game play and challenges. He grew up on Nintendo DS, PS3 & 4, Wii and Switch but also loves the older consoles like the Gameboy, Nes, Snes, Megadrive, gamecube etc.. That's why we all get on so well (similar interests again!).

Mine and Pamela's youngest Son (little Jason), comes on with us for special occasions like Halloween, Christmas, St Patrick's day, etc.. We do these mask give away's where Ma and I craft a Mask for the particular event and then we ask our friends to duet any vid they see with the masks in. We pick our favourite 13 and on the night, put into a hat and then get little Jason to draw out two winners. We then post out the 2 Masks. Just a bit of fun but me and Ma are always delighted to get one of our children involved!

You can also hear little Jason causing havoc in the background alot of the time but he's a good lad. He's so awesome at Fortnite. We sometimes stream his game play actually so keep a look out too!

To wrap up, Collaboration is super beneficial to our streams. Two heads are better than one.... Three, better than two... Its all about just bouncing ideas around and having a good time. Sometimes you run a bit dry on the idea front, but all it takes is a chat with one of your friends and boom, the juices start to flow!

Launching Our own Pamela Voorhees inspired Lives!

Ma just had to get in on the action! ��

So to pick up from our last Blog post, We had been doing our live streams for a while now, but it was still early days. I was doing the stream mostly but Mother occasionally came on, performing, dancing and acting as originaljasonvoorhees too and this would be awesome but the odd comment like "thats Jason's girlfriend" or, "you have beautiful blue eyes" would come through but we just wanted to keep everything consistent with the visuals, so that was when Pamela decided that she would start to think about how she wanted to launch her Pamela Voorhees inspired Cosplay account.

With Jason, the way we designed our streams was based around the violent movement you see in the phenomenal Friday the 13th Movies. The music, we decided suits me more is Rock & Rap mostly but with some softer ballads and other bits and pieces. With Mother, Pamela wanted to bring in more Trance and dance music vibes but also plays a bit of everything and really mixes it up with her favourite songs. Lighting being super important once again!

One thing I must say I love about Ma is when she sings- she has this amazing voice that'll blow you away! That is a big part of Ma's Stream actually but her dancing really starts to get the party going! It's super fun working with her. We act out a few Movie scenes together which our friends and viewers seem to enjoy because its the two of us interacting. We banter a lot when we're on and once we were doing accents so I tried my best Brooklyn impression where I started to moan and call her Ma and that name kind of stuck. Not sure if she likes it as much as me!��

Ma said the first time she went live as her new Character, she was so nervous but I knew she'd be ok because she was already used to it with me but had been doing our other live stream as well so she already had experience. The good thing was, we had already been letting our friends know she was going to start doing lives and she also put vids up advertising them. This is a really good strategy as your friends will want to show up to support. We thank you all for the support you have all ever given us and that goes for any stream we have ever done. We have people still with us from when Ma first done her makeup lives. Some have dropped off. Some we have unfortunately fallen out with. We still thank those people too as we all got on at one point. Things change and you just have to move forward and cutting ties is sometimes the best move to cut any continued toxicity.

Ma encouraged me to do more talking through duel lives- at the time I never wanted to speak and prefered to stay in character but doing this lead to meeting amazing people and realizing that these are opportunities to introduce your viewers to different entertaining individuals and connecting you with a bigger community. Ma could talk for England (she'll slap me!) so this comes easily for her. I've gotta be in the right mood.. Couple of drinks!

We both agree that so many funny vids have come from working together chatting on lives- so much fun! We like to post these funny moments as videos too. Our advise is to have a few different styles of vids that you post and find the ones that do well and then do more of them (less of the ones that go down like a lead baloon!).. Your followers start to like you for different reasons and you can differentiate between the Friday the 13th inspired vids you put up to be true to the characters, but also do stuff that is more showing of your actual personality. People may like what you do as an actual Cosplay artist and want to get to know you a little more that way and hear your thoughts and ideas about what you do.

Overall Original Pamela Voorhees has really added so much to our live streams and we have become a bit of a double act but we can do our own shows too- I love working with her! Shes actually my Wife but plays the part of my Mother which is funny!�� We have 2 other partners who occasionally come on with us too - theclassicmichaelmyers & littlejason .. We'll talk about those more in our next Blog post!

We got to 1k Followers.. Now we go Live!

Very nervous but, here we go...

So on Tiktok when we started, you needed 1k Followers to be able to go live, so to get those followers quickly, we used to go into Grow rooms. A few actually, like Madskilladil, Tilly, Wolfvain, Elliex, Blasianchick and some others. These were probably the earliest rooms we used to go in but since then we have made so many more friends who run those types of streams and they are super useful because they connect you very quickly with a bunch of new people from all over the world.

We got those followers really quickly and now we were in a position to go Live..

Lighting set up, music play lists ready with speakers turned on, prop Pickaxe positioned with Hockey Mask and gloves, ready to be picked up and all put on with back to camera not revealing real face.. Ma ready to control music and also Moderate, making everybody feel welcome.

We both took a deep breath, pressed Go Live and quickly shared it up.. Here we go.. OMFG, our numbers were going up and up quickly and people were eating up the vibe. We couldn't believe it.. Ma's vision for our Friday the 13th Jason Voorhees Cosplay Stream had come to life! 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 people... Not sure if it went over 1k Live viewers that first time but looking back, that was one of the best times for both of us. Ma was right! Great idea!

It was a mix of real people and trolls but the numbers were going really high with comments moving so rapidly, you couldn't read them quick enough.. Gifts were coming in thick and fast. When you have a combination of nice positive comments and gifts coming your way, it hypes you up to surprising levels. Mix that with the combination of Dutch courage and the cheeky smoke you may have had and you are pumped up like a maniac!

We decided that I needed to make some violent looking movements to try our best to look like Sean Cunningham's Jason Voorhees, but annoyingly this would lead to being suspended in our early day Lives, so on the one hand you would be over the moon that you were doing really well and thinking you were onto something here but then the suspensions would leave you feeling helpless and unable to go live until able to again.

We planned out our lives a lot and would really go deep. Our strategy was and still is, to set the atmosphere by playing some of the unforgettable Friday the 13th soundtrack music and mix it up with our favourite songs but also to act out scenes. Lighting partnered with sound and music are important here and you need to invest in your stream. In our first live streams we never had a backdrop and if you look back on our Tiktok account you can see what it looked like (scroll right down to the bottom of my account!). Ma would enjoy this stream so much that she would sometimes jump in, put on the Hockey Mask, be Jason too and you can spot her in some of our Counseller vids! They are our shout out vids featuring callers who have duel Lived us. More on those and the amazing friends we've met later but catch them on both of our Tiktok accounts, originaljasonvoorhees and originalpamelavoorhees.. ��

We bought our first mask off of Amazon or ebay- Midnightdippin AKA Pitbull won that in one of our competitions! We paid a lot for our under (Monster) mask from Etsy which we still use. We'll talk more about our masks, how we paint and decorate them and how the look of our stream has changed in upcoming posts but the next one will be about how we brought Ma into the mix because we thought she could really add to our performance. After all, Pamela Voorhees is integral to the Friday the 13th story and Movies. Everything Jason does, comes from Mother's instructions, Ki Ki Ki, Ma, Ma, Ma... Jason, Mother is talking to you..��

But honestly, those first Live streams that we did were so surprising and unbelievable. They opened our eyes up to Cosplay and how enjoyable that is. Allowed us to play our fav's Jason and Pamela who we grew up watching! Would recommend Cosplay to anyone creative and who loves to perform. A super fun project to work on. One thing I would say is to find a character suitable to your size or build and just have fun with it. Also don't take too seriously but just enjoy and try to celebrate that Character you love.

Why a horror Cosplay Stream?

A way to be creative but to also do well..

A little before Covid hit, one of our Kids used to be doing these funny dance routines around our house and we would always think, whats he doing cos he seemed to be having a blast.. He was making Tiktok vids before there was a live feature on the app. Pamela thought it looked like a giggle so she downloaded the app and started to make vids - i'd make the occasional one with her too. Then when Live streaming came along, Pamela (Ma) would be flicking through, showing me when we'd be chilling out.. Ma thought she'd try it out and starting to do makeup and music quiz streams which used to get a great reaction. I used to DJ a lot so Ma asked me to jump onto the quizzes with her and we started to do lives together, meeting loads of people throughout the first Covid lockdown and really getting deep into that, going live very often.

All the while doing the quizzes, we would notice the odd cosplayer while flicking through lives and what they were doing would look good and they would get these big numbers. There's a guy called Originaljigsaw we'd see and he'd do really well with his vibe and make cool vids too. We saw another guy called R3alFreddy growing his account in a grow room and he launched his character who was based on Freddy Krueger. Both of these guys did well, opening our eyes, but we carried on with the quizzes.

At some point though, maybe a few weeks later, Pamela said she'd been thinking and suggested to me about us launching an account based on Jason Voorhees. I was a bit against it at first because I thought if anybody we knew found out it was us, it would be embarrassing, but after a bit of thinking, we both agreed that if we do it, we want to try to do a good job, so we would need to invest some money in, buy some masks, clothing, lights, props, make sure that the visuals look good, and the sound and music were on point. We would then post some videos saying that we were trying to get to 1k followers so that we could go live, building up a bit of a buzz. We used certain strategies with our vids and really tried to show our passion for the Friday the 13th Movies and the character of Jason Voorhees. Ma set up the Tiktok account Original Pamela Voorhees, so we could really get into the story as Mother and Son when we gained enough followers to go live.

Ma would be our Moderator, but we would both work hard at coming with ideas, creating playlists, posting vids and like I said in our last blog post, being hands on and jumping on as OriginalJasonvoorhees too!

We'll tell you about how our first lives went in the next blog post. We'll also go into the highs, lows and struggles and give our advice to anyone who is thinking about launching a Cosplay stream.

Never thought we'd get into cosplay

How has the past 2 years been running a Friday the 13th themed cosplay livestream I hear you ask..

Two years ago, if you asked me or Ma if we'd be running a Friday The 13th themed cosplay stream, I would have laughed a very very hard laugh, but d'you know what.. We both love it and there's so many reasons why!��

To start with, the people and friends you make on here, for me (Jason), was super unexpected! I mean, We just wanted to do well, get a good reaction and try to make the stream look good, but certain people liked what we did and came back again when we were next live to support us, so you got to know them that way and before you knew it, bang, you got an amazing community of friends on tiktok who can really pump you up, cheer you up and get you enjoying yourself, even on days when you may not be in a great mood! Shouts out to #Voorheesfam!

Draw from your interests!
Me and Ma have always loved to sing at Karaoke bars, listen to music, watch all kinds of Movies and TV shows and generally be into all forms of Entertainment so performing and making content, bringing in inspiration from our favourite Horror Characters, Comedy movies, Rock, Rap &Dance songs... Hell, our Favourite Cartoons- has made us both fall in love with doing our stream and making our content.. Its like you can really show your personality through the content you put out, which makes cosplay and social media, a perfect combination, What we mean by this is, well, there are so many Jason Voorhees & Michael Myers Cosplay Artists... LOADS! So what you need to do is try to add your own flavour.. Try to go off on your own tangent and DO NOT copy someone else who does the same character as you.. Instead, be inspired by them but try to carve out your own style! That was why me and Ma started to paint and design our own masks, so we could truly go for the look that we wanted. I do try to paint my masks to look like the ones Jason wears in the movies but I can control exactly how they look. Some i've done well, others not so well, but as an artist, I try to build up and build on until i'm happy with the end result.. Ma's blinged out masks are amazing and she's quite lucky in that she doesn't need to base the look on Pamela Voorhees' mask because Pamela doesn't wear one in the movies.. Ma also enjoys that she can represent the character of Pamela in different forms (Movie Pamela, Ghostly Pam, Headless Pam), being imaginative with it creating a vibe!

Anything different now?

One thing where our stream (or our attitudes) is different from 2 years ago, is that there has been a lot more experience in dealing with trolls.. This is the bad side of Tiktok (and social media).. Our advice is not to take too much notice of any hurtful comments and after you make friends with people you trust, see if they will moderate for you. This will help to keep the silly comments away. One thing I will tell you is that unfortunately, sometimes you fall out with friends you have made and they may hold a grudge. You are better to avoid these dramatic arguments and try your best to move on and always try to be positive and have that positive mindset. Negative mindset only attracts more negativity. We are all human and at times can get drawn in and it also depends on how you are feeling and what kind of mood you are in. Me and Pamela feel that in our experience, it's always when we've swapped numbers and start whatsapping people we've met on our lives is where it all goes t**s up! People like to get too personal, but forget that this amazing relationship started online and works really well the way it is. There are people who have great experiences when they meet up too though.. Each to their own.

Plans for the future?

Well, we want to keep doing what we do, but we want to grow it through our other socials and also, be more creative and try to be better, more professional! We don't take it all too seriously but at the same time it's good to get serious! If we've been doing it for 2 years, then should our vids be better now than then? YES! Are they? Not sure.. One can only try!
